With all the Republican/Democrat banter going on here, one thing has become crystal clear.
Democrats are fiercely loyal. They will follow their candidate right into the sea. The party has done such an outstanding job of repeating the same lies so many times that they truly do become the truth in the minds of the brainwashed. The Pied Piper had nothing on them. The sight or sound of a Republican brings automatic convulsion and delusion. When the Dems knew McCain couldn't win he was the media darling and praised almost universally by Democrats. Now that he must act "Republican" to get elected, he is repulsive. It is incredibly void of intellectual integrity. Quite frankly, if you vote Democrat in this election, you are proclaiming to the world that nothing matters to you but beating a Republican. Taking a serious, intellectual look at both candidates and deciding that Barack Hussein Obama is the better choice as Commander-in-Chief and Chief Executive is patently absurd. Only someone blinded by an institutionalized hatred for the other party could come to such a conclusion. John McCain has a lifetime of service to his country, even without the heroic story. His distinguished record contains many items that would make a Democrat proud. He has always been heralded, even by the perverse who rail against him now, as an independent maverick. It is a non-debatable fact that he has gone against the Republican establishment quite often. He has universally been respected for his views even if they were not popular with either party. He has the experience of not only heroic military service but also of being a major force in the Senate for decades. He has been in government through good times, bad times, peace time, and war time. He is as qualified as any non-executive candidate can be. B. Hussein Obama has a lifetime of service to his calling too. Even without alluding to his numerous associations with socialists, communists, terrorists, racists, and just the run-of-the-mill America-hating crowd, he has dedicated his life to economic/social justice (code for Marxism for the masses). It is a non-debatable fact that B. Hussein Obama has burst onto the national scene with less than 150 days of Senatorial experience. He hasn't been known as a reformer or thorn in the side of the Washington establishment. He hasn't been known for anything. Ah, but he has been identified as an "articulate" black man who can inspire crowds by repeating the words hope and change over and over. There is absolutely nothing of substance that can be attributed to him that would lead to a rational thinker wanting him to preside over this great nation; the most powerful, prestigious position in the world. The idea of a man of his background even getting a campaign out of his Chicago neighborhood is Orwellian, indeed. Yes, McCain is not the greatest candidate in history. But in this election, he is the only candidate remotely worthy.

The part about lies, you know, fits perfect with the bush admin....dontcha think....

I know A-1 and breakazz consider me liberal however, I go with the man that best describes the issues as I see them. In this case it's McCain.
Regarding democrats following lock step and going along party lines, rebuflicans did that with Bush. Guy is only successful at duping and you brainless conservatives ate his bull**** like it was filet mignon. |

In the year 2000 republicans had a choice between Bush and McCain and we all know what choice that was, the dumbiest governor to sh*t between two legs. Now eight years later the runner up to the dumby is the mae to vote for. Now if that isn't nothing but pure party line voting, I don't know what is. McCain is no different than GW Bush, he has voted 90% of the time on whatever Bush wanted voted yes on. Now days he was to separate himself from Bush, why and the hell hasn't he done that years ago, instead here in an election year?? Then to add to his chances, he picks an unknown women from who cares to be his running mate and telling the media to leave her alone. The women is good looking I'll agree on that but to put her on a ticket for the second highest job in this land and not know a dam thing about, yet all keep saying she's a wonderful lady is again nothing more than party voting republicans. McCain deserves all the respect in the world, but his age has put him danger area of a top job like the president of the usa, then him passing and we end up with what's really no more than a housewife from the great north...No thanks.....

This is the most the regulars here have talked about McCain in a long time or ever. 2000 still is a lightning rod as it should. General elections usually defy logic. I would have ranked McCain #1 on the R depth chart that year, was surprised the Bush accomplished what he did. I then voted for him because I had fire lit in my ass after 8 years of Clinton. Did'nt like Gore. This time around I believe McCain was further down on my list but everybody underperformed. I did take some quiz that someone posted here about comapatabilty and McCain was on there, I thought it was a fluke. So yeah emotions and party lines can blur things. Emotion I can accept but lock and step party line always should be examined.
I am voting against the hard-left and Obama. Not selling this lady from Alaska short, she has a future and is a breath of fresh air. Also indirectly she has made Hillary's nightmare deeper, Hillary is going to be asked to work harder to counter this, her advisors are already warning that she's going to be working to raise money for other democratic candidates: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/05/us...hp&oref=slogin That article was on my feed briefly than vanished from sight...The media temperature is quickly changing. |

An independent maverick who's gone against the Repub establishment? Hasn't he voted with Bush about 90% of the time? You probably believed Bush when he said "my opponent trusts government, I trust the people."
