generally telling kids not to do something makes them even more curious to do it. And when kids are inundated with sex on MTV and crap like that, they are going to be even more curious. And mom and pop can't be with the kid every minute of every day.

I just dont get what is so tough for these kids to not use protection or get birth control. I'm a big believer that there arent any accidental pregnancies. there are so many ways not to get pregnant, many of these kids want babies.

i'm trying to remember in the news recently, there was a public figure who preached abstinence and that didnt seem to work either.

You just make stuff up out of thin air dont you. Teenage Pregnancy rates have gone DOWN significantly from its peak in the 1950's. it went down steadily from the 50's to the mid 90's where it went up again, then back down as we got to 2000.

the difference is that even though overall teenage pregnancies went DOWN, the unmarried percentage went way up.
