Default The drought is better for the sport than a Triple Crown winner

Like Cubs and Red Sox, the drought a bigger story than an actual Triple Crown winner.

Always a lot of public buzz,

Gives attention to the sport every year,

And nowadays a TC winner going to be put out to the shed in a matter of weeks. Not like there will be a world tour.

Funny you should mention this.

It is really spooky that the biggest fans or supporters of BB were also SOX and CUBS fans...Well at least thats the way it seemed to me....

I'm sure the biggest one is on the way home from the Rock right now...lol

It's a sad state of affairs when our hero Slew goes to Mike Wilbon for horse-racing snippets heeheeeheehahaha

Nice to see Aly-upstart show up to grave dance on the many TCers who volunteered to do the artificial insemenation thing with BB. Gee aly - you should be looking at an all time record for haters ;->

Hey Toga - lose the avatar already-- we get it, you hate Boston teams. Shouldn't uyou be at at a Joba for Starter rally somewhere?

I didn't hear Wilbon say that, but I have heard him doing coverage of the Triple Crown. He disguises his lack of knowledge very well. Makes you wonder what else he doesn't have a clue about lol.

He hates h-racing big. Actually what he spewed to day was the most insightful thing he ever said toward this sport. He usually pisses on it right up front so that noone will listen to him. Think he borrowed his little spiel today just to throw something at CornKaiser who actually lves racing.

Yeah I noticed he went from anti-racing, literally saying "who cares" to every racing topic, to talking halfway intelligently about Eight Belles and Big Brown.

i was at fox woods..lol...following the hoopla on abc this afternoon playing 20-40 hold em i saw the shots of BB in the security area rearing in his stall and i said to my buddy the picksixkid..1st jim mckay dies this morning and now BB is not a happy camper....kind of saw the writing on the wall....had a good overnight with the misses and was actually having some dinner when the race went off....while the hoopla is part of the fun i wonder if we'll ever see another triple crown winner....as long as they leave the present format alone i would dare say that the number of horses and trainers and owners...it looks to me that we'll never see one in our lifetime...BB looked horrible in the post parade....in the end it's all about the horse...quarter crack, the heat, the detention barn the 3rd race in 5 weeks...to much to overcome....but he gave us some great moments...

the game is a joke

A triple crown winner will not save the game

not having a triple crown will not save the game

people are acting as though dutrow is the only 1 who uses steroids

do i really believe that bob baffert won all those triple crown races on the straight and narrow

what mandella won 4 out of the 8 breeders cup races?

steroids and drugs are a joke

then again what isnt-the stock market

the price of gas

There definitely seems to something mystical about it.

People have gnashed their teeth before the Belmont about how such and such a horse doesnt deserve it for whatever reason. And in the end those horses get found out. Somehow some way, they got found out.

Have rooted against most of the near TC winning horses- for a variety of reasons- mostly just because of betting value. But this was one that was more than betting but almost personal. Would have been an affront to the game to have Dutrow go down in history books. Guy is just disgusting. Yes I know he is not the only one, but he takes it to a different level. Owners are scum too.

Horses like Silver Charm, Point Given, Afleet Alex, Smarty Jones were all more then worthy horses. Guess you have to put Real Quiet there too- cant lose any closer.

Charismatic, Funny Cide just got found out as have others.
