Illegal Horse Racing Near Guymon
Posted: Jul 06, 2009 1:38 PM CDT Updated: Jul 06, 2009 2:38 PM CDT Video Gallery Illegal Horse Racing Near Guymon 0:37 Guymon, OK Nine people sit in the Texas County jail this afternoon charged with running an illegal horse racing operation. Around 7:30pm Sunday night, over 50 officers from various jurisdictions, including the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement, broke up the ring north of Guymon. As part of Operation Belmont Stakes, officers detained around 150 people. The nine arrested include the track owner, jockey's, horse owners, and those involved in the operation of the track. Officers also took 19 horses, and various vehicles, horse trailers, cash, electronic equipment, and racing equipment from the scene I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SEEN THIS OUTFIT'S OPERATION. WTF!! |

a friend told me about these tracks in texas
the rule is when you go there you check your coat and gun at the desk no tote board no program just a sheet with the basics a scratch bookie takes max $100 wager and he scratches your initials and the odds down in a book |

I once went to see some quarter horse racing on Long Island, NY, and the betting was "auction style" where you bid on the horse you want going for you. I think this is called Calcutta betting. Believe they have that in Texas, also.
