On this date in 1976 Taurus Bomber equalled the fastest race mile in history, 1:54.3, at Springfield, Illinois, and also set the two-heat world record of 3:49.2.
On this date in 1987 Keystone Harem equalled the world record for female trotters, winning in 1:53.4 at Springfield, Illinois. On this date in 1989 Delray Lobell, driven by Don Irvine, Jr., set the world record for four-year-old geldings trotting on a five-eighths of a mile track by winning at Freestate Raceway in Maryland. On this date in 2007 Dave Palone won six races at The Red Mile. |
