On this date in 2006 Direct Withdrawal won the $20,000 Le Cinq Milles five-mile race at the Hippodrome De Quebec. Direct Withdrawal, starting from post 16, won the race in 11 minutes, 31 seconds, in a race in which 12 of the 16 horses managed to finish.

Gee Bill,It must be a slow day in history,thats the best thing that happened on this day? I have never heard of this horse ,30 claimers go for more than that-GM

Do they still race there? I seem to recall betting some simul races from that track in the past. I may be wrong but it seems to ring a bell.

Yes...They still hold a meet but I don`t think there bets are commingled with U.S pools like the rest of Canada.
