Default Cliff Lee

he will move to 19-2 after this evening with a sub 2.50 ERA on a 64-67 club...what a turn around from a guy sent to the minors last year. I have to give him all the credit in the world. Maybe last year's experience humbled him and made him into what he is today.

Nice hit, P3.

It may have humbled him or at least taught him to control his emotions. I always loved his competitive drive. He is not as demonstrative, but you can still see it in his eyes.

Of course, there has not been too much to get upset about either.

.500 seemed impossible a couple weeks ago.

Guitt, J. Lewis, and these new pitchers have been amazing lately.

You know, if Lee wins it will be because of what the Tribe bats did against Halladay.

Well, Slew, did you clean up with the Tribe during their streak?

Cliff goes for #20 tonight. Don't bet so don't know line. If you go with typical C-town luck, then he is a go against.

I say he does it. His demeanor has been so solid all year. And it's only Sept. 1 so not so much pressure.

Finally made some money back on them on a few games the past few weeks. Big one in Detroit when they were better than 2/1.

Cleveland currently -170 avg price for tonight's game.......pass

Well, I remember Gaylord Perry but not the day he won #20.

So basically this is my first 20-game winner as a fan.

It is even better that he persevered through such a low last year. One year ago today he was recalled from the minors.

Way to go, Cliff.

Amazing and all the more reason he should win the Cy Young...I know some are saying K-Rod...but you go 20-2 on a team with no offense and who has only 67 wins....all the more reason he deserves it. ...OUTSTANDING!!

Cliff Lee for Cy Young and it's not even close

He's gotten some good fortune, and a guy like Halladay has gotten unlucky in spots, but them's the breaks.

I'd argue against Lee if he wasn't leading the AL in ERA.

CC, who many people are saying is the "real" NL MVP, was 6-8 on the same team. Lee got some more run support than CC, and has been around when the bats finally got hot, but still extremely impressive to go 20-2 on this team.

It'd be impressive to go 20-2 on the '27 Yankees or on the 1906 Cubs.

I don't know if you are going by overall avg. run support or not, but Cliff has 5 no decisions and in 4 of those he gave up 1 run or less.

Yeah overall average run support just think it's amazing the Cleveland bats and bullpen didn't let Lee down more often during that awful stretch. And when I say "unlucky", Halladay has had tougher starts than anybody -- especially on the road. Pitched against Tampa and Boston like 8 times and almost all tight games. Yet he's only lost five more games with a similiar ERA, pitched some real gems at places like Anaheim, and think he could easily be a 20 game winner too.

OK, I realize I'm building a case for Bullring lol

Not trying to take anything away from Lee though. He is the AL winner.

That is amazing...I hadn't heard that stat...thanks for sharing.....Imagine if CC were 13-0 for us......we'd be heading back to the Fall Classic. So Frustrating.....the team has relaxed and playing good ball now that expectations have been dropped. The pattern shows next year is the year to bet on the Tribe!!
