Say an infielder decides he doesn't want to use his glove on a routine grounder and misses the ball, is it an error?
I think C.C.'s propensity to use the bare hand may have cost him here. But does the fact that he uses the bare hand a lot mean that the play itself was not routine. If my 12-year-old pitcher didn't make that play, I mark error in my book.
