Default C.C.

Say an infielder decides he doesn't want to use his glove on a routine grounder and misses the ball, is it an error?

I think C.C.'s propensity to use the bare hand may have cost him here. But does the fact that he uses the bare hand a lot mean that the play itself was not routine.

If my 12-year-old pitcher didn't make that play, I mark error in my book.

its an error all right but they can not change this .. the fact that there was a hit in inning 5 chanhed the way the rest of the game was played I saw if that was called an error the rest of the game would have been spent trying to break up the NO-NO and we dont know if he would have been able to keep the bases clear under those circumstances.. I think CC has handled this with much class and isnt sweating this at all he knows the most important stat of the dat was the W.

All true but still stinks.
